Nyasha Angel, Reiki Master Teacher

  • Reiki is an ancient healing technique used in the Japan for hundreds of years. It is a safe, gentle, non-invasive form of hands-on healing, which accelerates the natural healing processes of the body, mind and soul.

Reiki sessions are tailored and unique to each individual. The client is an active participant in their healing experience with Reiki. Your intentions, willingness to heal and ability to receive healing will allow optimal Reiki energy to flow through you. By allowing the safe space for whatever needs to show up, to show up, your greatest growth and release can unfold. Regardless of the direction sessions go, they are being cradled by a strong foundation of unconditional love. Empowerment is another key component of our work together. If appropriate, I will share techniques you can use in everyday life to support yourself outside of our sessions. Other modalities that are sometimes incorporated into our work include Energy Clearing, Kryia Yoga healing techniques, Sound therapy and Intuitive messages.

  • Nyasha has been a Registered Reiki Master Teacher with the Canadian Reiki Association (CRA) since 2018. She teaches Traditional Usui Reiki with a focus on original Japanese techniques, meditations and teachings of Mikao Usui.

Students receive a certificate of completion from the Canadian Reiki Association. Note: the CRA does not support or recognize online Reiki training.

This Master Practitioner course is structured to deepen your ability to serve and support others with integrity and prowess, while still taking good, honest care of yourself.

Kriya Yoga Meditation

Nyasha Angel

  • What Is Kriya Yoga Meditation?

Kriya Yoga is an ancient meditation technique of energy and breath control, or pranayama. It is part of a comprehensive spiritual path, which includes additional meditation practices along with right living.

    • Correct posture for meditation

    • Breathing techniques to prepare the mind for meditation

    • Specific mantras to focus the mind and build concentration

    • Develop a daily meditation routine

  • What happens in the brain when you meditate?

Brain waves are the measurements of the electrical pulses in your brain. These pulses are measured in a unit of frequency called Hertz (Hz).

There are five distinct levels of frequencies your brain may be pulsing at, and each frequency level represents what type of function your brain is performing (e.g., sleeping, focusing, recalling a memory, etc.).

The five brain frequency levels are:

    • Delta (less than 4 Hz). The slowest brain wave. The brain increases delta waves during sleep to reduce awareness.

    • Theta (3.5 to 7.5 Hz). A slow brain wave that increases when we are awake but focusing internally (e.g., daydreaming).

    • Alpha (8t o 12 Hz). The frequency your brain reaches when it’s relaxed. The brain is alert but not actively processing information.

    • Beta (12.5 to 30 Hz). The brain reaches this frequency when it’s alert and needs to process external information.

    • Gamma (25 to 140 Hz). Your brain reaches this frequency range when it’s at peak concentration.

During meditation, the most common frequencies an electroencephalogram (EEG) will detect are relaxed-state theta and alpha waves. And, as a result, the average levels of beta waves tend to decrease.

Meditation can act as a tool to help you access theta and alpha brain frequencies. Once meditation becomes a regular part of your daily routine, it can have lifelong benefits on your brain’s health.

Making alpha waves your dominant brain wave

After practicing meditation for a long enough period, research suggests that alpha frequencies can become the brain’s dominant brain wave.

Once alpha waves increased to dominant levels benefits include:
